Seaweed

Seaweed (Kaiso) also called sea vegetables have been eaten in the Japanese diet for many centuries.  Konbu(kelp), Wakame, Hijiki, and Nori(laver) are used for soup stocks, salads, and so on.  They're rich in nutrition such as fiber, beta-carotene and vitamin C.
